  5.                   Directories, paths and files

  7. Directories     are drawers on a disk.  The root directory is the first
  8.                 drawer - the disk itself.  The current directory is the one
  9.                 you last CD-ed to.  If you have not used CD, have a look at
  10.                 our CLI window.  Usually it will have the current directory
  11.                 written before the prompt. ( 1:> or similar)

  13. Paths           Paths show which directories AmigaDOS must open to get to a
  14.                 destination - a path it must follow.  On your Workbench disk
  15.                 there is a program in the Prefs drawer (or directory) called
  16.                 Palette.  Its path is

  20. Files           are the basic storage unit on a computer.  All the CLI 
  21.                 commands are files.  In a simplified form, files are 
  22.                 anything on a disk that is not a drawer.  Application 
  23.                 programs are files.  When you save text from a WordProcessor
  24.                 it is saved to a file
